Northampton – we survived day 2

In little words yesterday was cold, wet, hilly and tiring! Today we gladly lleft behind the Yorkshire peaks and the Derbyshire hills to meet with the mild Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Today was sunny (I got a sun-burnt!), largely flat, a nice wind and we reached the end by 5 pm!

We reached Loughborough – 90 Km closer to London

Ok, we reached Loughborough – it was tough! My body is painful and I am aware that tomorrow will be even worst

However , it was a great satisfaction and we met wonderful people on the road, like Alex from long Eaton that volunteer to show us a piece of the route! Thanks Alex!

it is not everyday that I take time off to ride the entire day!

Just a picture to witness the arrival to the first step!

From where everything has started!

Hi Dear, Thanks for taking the time to visit my Blog!

Me and my dad had this crazy idea to cycle from Sheffield to London,UK (300 Km) to raise funds for RAFT!!! We will burn 90 Km a day, in the hope to reach London safe and sound in 4 days- from the 24th to the 27th of May!

As everyone know, I am not much of a cycler and my dad – although he is an experience peregrin (he did santiago, Milan – Padoa) – he had some metal implants in his knee, as a result of a motorcycling accident last year… Thus, we were bored and we wanted to do something different… it is going to be CHALLANGING!

We are doing this for RAFT,  RAFT stands for the Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust. They are an independent registered charity carrying out pioneering research into practical and affordable ways to save and repair skin. It is the charity where I did my master project under the guidance of Dr.Dye.

RAFT is mainly funded by charitable donations. In order to continue their vital work, they rely on support and help from people like you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. http://www.justgiving.com/giuliagiglio

Thanks you very much for your help!
